Where to Find the Best Pizza in the Spartanburg Area

Posted on | 1 Comment

What’s for dinner tonight? A home cooked meal is always nice, but it’s also time consuming. Plus who knows if you will actually get the kids to eat it without complaining (even though you cooked a meal that would have Bobby Flay asking you for the recipe). Instead of slaving away on dinner tonight, or if you forgot to take that pre-prepped meal out of the freezer this morning, order some pizza. Or, better yet, go out for pizza. After all, National Pizza Day is February 9th, so go celebrate!

Best pizza in the area

If you are going out to eat with your family, co-workers, hosing a birthday party, or just want to grab a slice, Spartanburg offers several options to fill your pizza craving. Instead of opting for your traditional delivery or carry out pizza place, why not give one of the pizza restaurants mentioned below a whirl.

Manny’s Greek and Italian Restaurant

2520 Boiling Springs Rd.
Boiling Springs, SC  29316

Why it’s goodManny’s has a huge variety of toppings, including not so traditional pizzas with white sauce, chicken, and vegetables-you might even consider it ‘gourmet’ pizza. The pies are sized well and do not lack any flavor. They have an ongoing special where you can get 10 free wings when you order any specialty pizza, which is a great fill in where you feel like you may want that third slice, but it would just make you too full. Trying to sneak some veggies into your child’s meal? Adding some to pizza might just do the trick, and you will get away with it, too!

Rapid Fired Pizza

1707-F John B White Sr Boulevard
Spartanburg, SC 29301

Why it’s good: No fighting over the toppings! Get individual pizzas with your custom toppings and sauces. Everyone gets what they like and everyone goes home happy. Kids’ meals are reasonably priced and even come with a cookie. Check our our Mom Review of Rapid Fired Pizza.

Fratello’s

1047 Fernwood Glendale Rd.
Spartanburg, SC 29307

Why it’s good: Another restaurant that offers more than just pizza, but it’s definitely a place to go if you want good pizza. Fratello’s also offers a larger variety than your traditional pizza toppings. Thinking about adding some shrimp or eggplant to your pizza? That’s only a few of the not-so-average toppings they offer. Check out their website for a full menu, and you can even conveniently place your order online.

Capri’s Italian Restaurant

1927 Boiling Springs Rd.
Boiling Springs, SC 29316

Why it’s good: This restaurant also offers more than just pizza, but the pizza may just be the reason you want to try this place out. With their pizza measuring 10.5”, divided into eight slices, they are the perfect size to share, or order your own. Sometimes, one of the hardest parts of ordering pizza is coming to a mutual decision on which toppings to get. At Capri’s, you don’t have to decide on just one. With the slices being smaller than your average slice of pizza, you could easily eat three slices without feeling stuffed; of course unless you load it with toppings. Capri’s certainly isn’t stingy with their toppings either. Don’t expect to only have a few pieces of the toppings scattered around the pizza. They add enough so you get a full taste of the topping in every single bite. The menu, and even a few specials, can be found on their website if you want to plan ahead. Who said pizza has to wait until Friday night? Capri’s offers buy one get one free on Wednesday nights!

Pi-Squared Pizza

1802 Drayton Rd.
Spartanburg, SC 29307
Visit their website here.

2640 Boiling Springs Rd.
Boiling Springs, SC 29316
Visit their website here.

Why it’s good: Pi-Squared Pizza didn’t just pull their name out of thin air- this ‘Detroit-style’ pizza is actually a square instead of the traditional circle.  With a thicker crust that looks like it’s on the way to being deep dish, but not quite there yet, it lets you taste more of the awesome flavor the crust holds in itself. Check out the menu on their website, and you will find specialty pizzas with toppings you never would have though could go on pizza, but are worth a try. If you’re not ready to try a BBQ Mango chicken pizza, you can also build your own pizza and choose the toppings you want. They have a different special every day of the week, which can also be found on their website. Wondering what Detroit-Style pizza is like? Have Pi-Squared deliver it to you the next time your family wants pizza and it surely won’t disappoint.

Pizza Inn

Several locations:

Duncan- 1517 E. Main St.
Spartanburg- 1108 Asheville Highway
Spartanburg- 2225 E. Main Street
Greer- 115 W. Wade Hampton Blvd

Why it’s good: Pizza Inn offers an affordable pizza buffet, or carry out if you don’t feel like sticking around. With an all-you-can-eat buffet of pizza, you might want to wear some loose-fitting pants before you head over. There are a variety of pizzas to choose from. Feeling like a ham pizza, but don’t see it on the buffet? Just ask them and they will make it for you! There is also a game room with arcade games, so you can turn this into a fun night out with the kids. Keep an eye out for Pizza Inn coupons in mailers that are delivered to your home.

Wild Ace Pizza and Pub

148 W. Main St.
Spartanburg, SC 29306 — Note: This location is closing soon.

103 Depot St.
Greer, SC 29651

Why it’s good: You can find good New York style pizza outside of New York. In fact, you can find it right here in Spartanburg (or Greer) at Wild Ace Pizza and Pub. Choose from a large variety of toppings to fill up your 14” or 18” pie. Wild Ace offers calzones, wings, sandwiches, and salads, in addition to pizza. Pizza can be ordered by the slice with whatever toppings you want (with a few exceptions), making this the perfect place to go if not everyone can agree that it’s pizza night. They also offer a gluten free pizza if your diet is restricted.

Brickhouse Fresh Pizzeria and Grill

103 N. Daniel Morgan Ave
Spartanburg, SC 29306

No official website, but you can find them on Facebook.

Why it’s good: Two words, Brickhouse. Pizza. If you haven’t tried pizza cooked in a brick oven before, or have and just weren’t a fan, you might need to give it a second go-around at this place. All pizzas are 10”, letting you share one, or a few, with someone else. There are several specialty pizzas you can try, or build your own. Their menu also includes wings, subs, wraps, calzone, salads, and a handful of appetizers to start off your meal. If you feel like going without the kids one night, they also have a bar upstairs.
