Are you ready for February in Spartanburg, SC? We have a list of 28+ kid-approved things to do in Spartanburg this February. You’ll find fun Valentine’s Day events at the library, plus Parents’ Night Out events, free things to do, theatre events and more!

Things to do in February

Special Events Just in February

Don’t forget to pick up your Pepsi Party pack if your child turned 6 in January or turns 6 in February. Dates for pickup this month are February 3-7, 2020 only.

Home Depot offers a free children’s workshop each first Saturday from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. On Saturday, February 1, 2020 your child can make (and keep) a heart string art!

Spartanburg Philharmonic will be performing Americana Masters featuring Béla Fleck – a night of discovering the banjo. This concert will take place at Twichell Auditorium on February 1, 2020 at 7:00 pm.

Boiling Springs Library is hosting a Donut Party on February 3, 2020 at 4:00 pm.

Black History Month Scavenger Hunt will lead tweens (10-12 year olds) through the Cyrill-Westside Library to learn the history. This will take place on February 11, 2020 at 4:30 pm.

Aladdin, Jr. comes to life in a production the whole family will love. This show lasts 3 days only, February 14th to 16th, 2020 at Spartanburg Youth Theatre.

Black History Month: Family Night Out Bingo at Headquarters Library on February 18, 2020 at 7:00 pm. Learn about black history facts while playing bingo in celebration of Black History Month.

Don’t Forget About These Weekly Events!

If you haven’t visited Big Air Trampoline Park yet you can take your little ones (up to age 7) to Toddler Time any Wednesday & Thursday from 10 am – 1 pm. $8 gets your child up to 3 full hours of fun (and will probably buy you a good afternoon nap too!).

Preschool Open Jump for kids 6 and under happens from 10 am – 2 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at Pump It Up. Your little one can climb, bounce and play until they can’t climb, bounce or play any longer!

Chapman Cultural Center is open for Sundays Unplugged from 2 – 4 pm every Sunday to offer a casual and cultural experience for those who wish to unplug! Admission is free!

Worth a Trip to Greenville

Cheer on the Swamp Rabbits Hockey Team at Bon Secours Wellness Arena at one of their 5 February home games. February 1, 2020 is Marvel Comics Night, and February 2, 2020 is Kids Free Day with a postgame skate with players.

South Carolina Children’s Theatre production of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe runs January 25th – February 2nd at Peace Center’s Gunter Theatre.

Monster Jam is an adrenaline-charged family entertainment featuring some of the most recognizable trucks in the world including Grave Digger ®, Alien Invasion and many more. This event is happening at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on February 7 – 8, 2020.

STEM Fest at Roper Mountain Science Center–This 2nd Saturday event (February 8, 2020) at RMSC will last from 9 am – 3 pm and includes many fun STEM based activities as well as access to the marine lab, rain forest, and planetarium. 2020 prices are $8/adults and teens and $7/children (ages 4-12). Children 3 and under, RMSC members, and GCSD employees with a pass can all attend for free. Be sure to either bring cash or purchase your tickets ahead of time online.

Cardboard Regatta happens on February 29th from 2 – 5 pm at the Greenville County Aquatic Complex – Register as a team to build a boat and then compete for a number of prize categories. Family entry fee is just $15.

Library Events Not to Miss in February

We like to give you a heads up on what’s going on at the library since many of these events require pre-registration and will fill up. All library events are free.

The Spartanburg County libraries are hosting tons of Valentine Events for the ages of all your kids like these:

Saturday Family Story Time happens every month at Cyrill-Westside Library. This month will meet on February 15th at 12:30 pm. Stories, chants, rhythms and sensory play for kids 12 and under.

Parent/Child Dates

I know that Father/Daughter and Mother/Son date events can sound a little exclusive. If you like the theme of an event and your family doesn’t perfectly fit the category, don’t be afraid to call and ask if you can still register. Many venues just want parents to have fun with their kids.

Daddy Daughter Dance – Don’t miss a date with your daughter this year at the annual Daddy Daughter Dance on Friday evening, February 7, 2020  at the Cleveland Park Event Center. The evening will include a seated dinner and a night of dancing as a DJ spins your favorite dancing tunes. A great opportunity to make those lasting memories that will be cherished for a lifetime! Tickets are $25 per person, which includes dinner, dancing, and a souvenir photo. (Ages five and up.)

Daddy Daughter Date Night happens Friday, February 7, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Hearts of Clay Pottery Painting Studio – It’s their annual Valentine’s Daddy Daughter Date Night with chocolate, candies, cookies, soft drinks and water. Cost is $5 per family plus cost of whatever pottery you choose to paint.

Looking for a date for the whole family? Visit SAM Family Funday: DIY Valentine’s Day Prints on February 9, 2020 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Families can craft Valentine’s Day Prints at this Drop-In event hosted by Spartanburg Art Museum. $5 per person. RSVP ahead of time to ensure they have enough supplies on-hand.

Parents Need Fun Too

Galentine’s Day at Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery on February 13, 2020 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

Hearts Of Clay is offering Galentine’s Day event on February 13, 2020 at 6:00 pm. Take your best girlfriends and celebrate one another at this special event. $5 fee for admission plus the cost of the pottery you paint.

Coming Up in March

Annual Character Breakfast – We just want to give you a heads up that the South Carolina Children’s Theatre’s annual Character Breakfast is coming up on Saturday, March 9, 2019. This breakfast is a significant event in that it’s the only chance in Greenville to experience 30 characters at the same event and it’s really a magical moment for the children who attend. It’s also an event that typically sells out, so now is the time to book your seats. Find more information on the SCCT website.
