Where to Find Free School Supplies in Spartanburg

Posted on | No Comments

Wondering how you will afford school supplies this year? We’ve compiled a list of community groups and events in Spartanburg where free school supplies will be available to students!

Back to school time is usually a hectic, stressful time for most families. For parents, the cost of all the supplies needed might be a financial burden too large to handle. The National Retail Foundation reports that families of school-age children will spend $80.7 billion dollars on supplies this year. Statistics show that equates to an average of $500-$700 per family. With the current uncertainty surrounding so many aspects of our lives, school supplies should be an easier problem to solve.

Often times, it’s teachers that step in to fill the gap when families can’t afford to send in the necessary supplies. Seeing this burden placed on teachers has resulted in a lot of communities offering free supplies to children prior to the start of school.

We’ve compiled a list of events that not only offer free school supplies but other valuable resources that families might need as the new school year begins.

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, a lot of the annual events included in this list have been canceled. We will update this information as events are announced.
