Pie, is something I consider a staple of any holiday meal. Every family is different, but I think this is one thing most of us can agree on. However after that, I’m sure there are tons of different opinions as to which kind of pie. Does your family prefer a custard type like pumpkin, sweet potato, egg, or coconut? Perhaps a fruit pie, like cherry or apple? What about a truly southern pie like pecan or buttermilk?

*Disclaimer – when claiming a professionally made pie as your own, we recommend you having a secret family recipe or something at the ready. We cannot be held responsible if your pie story unravels because you don’t have a background story. Google a recipe for the pie you select and then conveniently leave out an ingredient as you haphazardly scribble it down and put it in your purse as you head out to your family gathering. Then when they call you later to tell you the pie didn’t turn out as good as yours was, ask if they remembered the “secret ingredient”? Which you will then tell them is “Love,” right before hanging up and changing your phone number. OK, well maybe you don’t need to change your phone number, but definitely do the rest.
