Hallelujah! Spartanburg has a kid-friendly hair salon! We’d lived here nine years, and since my son was born eight years ago, we have been making the trek to Greenville for kid hair salons. When I saw an advertisement for The Industry: A Hair and Beauty Salon Junior, I was overjoyed, and I am delighted to share our experience with you.
What The Industry Junior Offers
The Industry Junior is a branch of the popular hair and beauty salon, The Industry. However, the Industry Junior is designed for kids 12 years old and under. Everything from the décor to the kid-friendly salon chairs to the music is designed with kids in mind. Kayla, my daughter’s hairstylist, specializes in cutting kid’s hair – and she’s a mom herself.
In addition to haircuts, the salon also offers manicures and pedicures, updo’s, and ear piercing. Plus, they have fun add-on’s that kids will love, like nail art and fairy hair. (I’m an adult, and even I want fairy hair.)
They also plan to start hosting kids’ birthday parties, which I know my girly-spa-loving daughter will be super excited to plan.
A Kids’ Salon in Spartanburg
I am a fan of all the upstate, but I am thrilled to have a local Spartanburg kid-friendly hair salon. The Industry Junior is connected to The Industry, located at 122 South Liberty Street, Spartanburg. This is right in Downtown Spartanburg by Denny’s building – and conveniently located by the shopping center that houses Downtown Deli and Donuts and Hub City Scoops if you need to offer your child an after-the-haircut reward. No judgment here!

If your kid hates haircuts or you have a kid who needs some extra special attention to make a salon visit easier, then this is the place for you. Or, if you have a kid who loves being pampered, this will be your go-to spot.
I am tickled pink to have a kid-friendly hair salon in Spartanburg. The staff was warm and friendly. The setting was bright and colorful. The prices are comparable to other salons made for kids. I could go on and on! Plus, my daughter loved the entire experience – from sitting in the airplane to getting a big girl manicure.
