Free & Cheap Outdoor Movies Near Spartanburg

Did you know that families can enjoy outdoor movies? Here are the movie venues and some tips on what you can expect.

Remember that these events are subject to weather, so check the Facebook page of the venue close to the movie date. Also, especially for extremely popular choices, you will want to arrive early.

Drive-In Movies

Many local businesses, churches and community organizations are hosting Drive-in movie opportunities.

Movie on the Lawn at Drayton Mill – $10 per car

September 10th – Princess Bride

Head to Drayton Mills for a Movie on the Lawn! These are hosted by Dray: Bar + Grill and begin at 8 pm.  Get your movie snacks and shakes from Dray Bar + Grill’s Fetch ‘n Go!

The Walmart Drive-In – Free

The Wal-Mart Drive-In Movie tour is being provided to communities for free during the pandemic will be stopping in Spartanburg on October 13th and 14th. Tickets were provided on a first come first serve reservation basis and at this time are all sold out. Tickets will NOT be available at the gate on the night of the showing.

City of Greer Moonlight Movies – Free

This event was canceled in 2020 and is planned for June & July 2021.

Inflatables, games, and dancing will be available for free at 6 pm at Greer City Park. Movies start at dusk at the Greer City Park Amphitheater each Thursday. Children 16 and under must be with an adult while at the event. This event is free. Concessions are available for purchase.

Family Movie Night at Lyman Amphitheater – Free

The Town of Lyman’s Family Movie Night is on select Thursdays in June, July, and August. These free outdoor movies at the Lyman Amphitheater begin at 7:30 pm and include light refreshments. Movie titles are announced the week of the event.

Movies in the Park at Barnet Park in Spartanburg – Free

The Spartanburg City Parks are closed indefinitely due to health concerns.

Movies in the Park at Barnet Park are offered on select evenings once a month. Along with the movie, there are drawings for gift certificates to local businesses. Movies begin at sundown.
