All around the Upstate, events are planned to celebrate Spring and the great outdoors. April includes major events such as Spring Fling and Spartanburg Soaring. Over 30 Things to Do in April
If your child is turning six in April (or turned six in March), don’t forget to pick up your free Pepsi Party Park the first week of April.

Michael’s is offering a variety of kid’s crafts and art projects during Spring MAKE Camp April 2nd-6th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Parents/guardians must remain on the premises. Children 3 years old and up. $3.

Big Air Trampoline Park will be open Spring Break (April 2nd-6th); however, their hours will change. Toddler Time and Homeschool Hours do not occur during school breaks. Add Big Air Trampoline Park your Spring Break activity list – it will be a hit for the whole family!
Pump It Up will be open Monday-Friday of Spring Break (April 2nd-6th) with 6 and under open jump from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and Family Jump Time from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
The annual Spartanburg County Parks Easter Egg Scramble will be held April 20, 2019 from 10 am – 1 pm at Tyger River Park. Admission cost is $5/child and free for adults.
First Baptist Simpsonville is hosting The Great
Bunny Egg-Stravaganza at The Children’s Museum of the Upstate – Spartanburg on April 13th at 8 am. Enjoy a special morning of Easter activities. Members: $10 per person| Non-members: $15 per person

Chick-fil-a Spartanburg offers a special story time, Books Come Alive, each Wednesday from 10:35 am – 11:00 am that includes a special story, craft and a treat. For those of you on the North Side of Spartanburg, Chick-fil-a of Boiling Springs also offers Books Come Alive each Thursday from 10:35 am – 11:00 am.
Music on Main is held on Thursdays from 5:30 pm -8:30 pm in downtown Spartanburg through the month of April. This is a FREE family-friendly event with live music in Morgan Square.
Jazz on the Square is another opportunity for families to enjoy live music in scenic Morgan square. This FREE event is held on Fridays in April (beginning April 14th) and May from 5:30 pm – 7: 30 pm.
Enjoy an active night of fun and laughter while roller skating at Sk8ers Family Fun Center in Spartanburg. Special Events in April
Hearts of Clay will off Kid’s Night Out on April 5th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Drop the kids off for a special kids night creating spring-inspired art at Hearts of Clay. They will be fed dinner. $25 per child.
Hub City Hog Fest takes place on April 5th and continuing April 6th. This is a barbeque cooking competition event that blocks off several downtown Spartanburg streets along Morgan Square to benefit Mobile Meals of Spartanburg. This event includes a barbeque competition, food from local vendors and great live music.
Opening Day of Hub City Farmer’s Market will be April 6th, 2019 from 8 am – 12 pm. In addition to produce and goods, there will be bounce houses and kids activities to celebrate opening day!
The Spartanburg Youth Theatre presents Junie B. Jones is Not a Crook for showings on April 12th and 13th. This production is a musical version of Dahl’s classic story acted out entirely by youth. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youth.
Walnut Grove Plantation will host Living History Saturday on April 13th from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Take a tour and see the South Carolina Independent Rangers as they talk about life during the Revolutionary War.
Spartanburg Soaring will be April 13th from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm and is held at Chapman Cultural Center. This exciting kite festival includes kite flying and kite demonstrations. There will be food vendors, music, and kites for sale. Bring your own or purchase one there. Plan to spend the afternoon eating a picnic lunch, enjoying the April weather and watching kites soar through Spartanburg’s sky. Family Popcorn & Paint & Spiderman Visit at East Main Arts on April 13th, 2019 at 4:30 pm. $8.
This year’s Spring Fling will be the weekend of April 26-28. This annual event is packed full of food, fun and more! It includes a mix of entertainment events, rides, inflatables, live music
Pump It Up will offer a Parent’s Night Out on April 26th from 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm. Drop the kids off for jump time, pizza dinner and tons of fun.
Take your family to the 5th Annual International Festival, Greer Goes Global, at Greer City Park on April 27
Character Day: Community Helpers at Cyrill-Westside Library on April 1st, 2019 at 4:30 pm. Read about community helpers. Enjoy crafts and games.
Family Movie: Into the Spiderverse at Cyrill-Westside Library on April 5th, 2019 at 2 pm. Watch a movie and enjoy some popcorn. FREE.
Cyrill-Westside Library will host two Lego Block Parties this month (April 8th & 22nd from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm). Tired of stepping on Legos at home for days and days after playing with them? With over 55 pounds of Legos – the possibilities are endless and it is their mess to clean up. There will be a special area for little ones.
Greenville Events Worth the Drive
The 5th Annual iMAGINE Upstate is a FREE STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) Festival taking place in downtown Greenville on April 6th, 2019 from 11 am – 5 pm.
The Greenville Zoo will host Party for the Planet on April 20th from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. This is the zoo’s Earth Day Celebration. Included with admission.
